Brooklyn based artist and designer Ian (Hydeon) Ferguson will be delivering his debut solo show in New York City at a pop up gallery space in Brooklyn. For one night only, Ferguson will open a show entitled “Into the Foliage: Dream Sequence One” a visual narrative of the artists exploration into the space between dreams; the ethereal worlds within one’s self, questioning real life, acknowledging the relationship one has with nature, and the dynamics of living in New York City. The visuals in the show yield integral depictions of how these explorations and optimistic ideas of spirituality meet up and disperse in the quiet moments of the mind. The mind drifts deep into the foliage during REM sleeping cycles, providing us with visuals, insight, and perhaps ancient memories into our own lives and relationships before or beyond our earthly existence. “Into The Foliage” acknowledges these inner visuals and ancient memories, bringing them into our physical world.
Ferguson will be revealing a considerably large body of work consisting of new drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations, murals, video, and several private collection based works. In addition to the art show, the artist will also be fusing the element of fashion into the show by transforming part of the gallery space into a rouge runway fashion performance complete with a disposable camera paparazzi, a curated DJ performance with CD Walkmans, and video projections. Ferguson will be revealing exclusive apparel collaborations with Brazilian fashion brand 1 9 9 4 . The fashion collections being released are closely connected to the theme of the show and will be worn by models during the runway performance. The runway will be covered in murals and installation art which will interact with the performance. The clothing collections being released will also be available on clothing racks in the gallery space. Ferguson will also be releasing 5 new prints (silk screen and digital) at the show along with his recently released wallpaper “Brownstoner” (via Flavor Paper)
